At present, the global warming has a serious impact on the natural environment and human life, in order to reduce the impact of global warming, the emission of carbon dioxide must be controlled. Therefore, many countries are making best efforts to reduce emissions, for example, the governments formulate carbon emissions policy, exploit new energy, apply the low-carbon technology, and so on. Among these, the development of low-carbon technology is an effective way to reduce carbon emissions, low-carbon technology innovation can improve the efficiency of carbon emissions and national competitiveness. Compared with the developed countries, Low-carbon technology development started later in China, furthermore, the energy structure in China is unreasonable and the industrial consume most of energy, so it is necessary to achieve emission reduction through technology innovation in the industry. This article is based on the macro background, discuss the manufacturer emission reduction through technology innovation under different channel structure. On the basis of the research literature, this paper uses the game theory method to analyze the manufacturer emission reduction through technology innovation under two kinds of channel structure, which includes the leading manufacturers and the leading retailers. This paper has three main core decision-making, including the manufacturer does not carry out the technology innovation, the manufacturer carries out the technology innovation alone and the manufacturer and retailer carry out the technology innovation together. Firstly, refer to the research of scholars, the paper establish a basic model, and on the base of basic model create three core models under the situation of the leading manufacturers and the leading retailers. Secondly, the Stackelberg game theory is applied to solve the model, and use the comparative analysis and the qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze the model. Then, the paper studies the manufacturer’s technology innovation on emission reduction in the horizontal and vertical, three cases are discussed:(1) the comparison of three decision-making under the manufacturer dominant;(2)the comparison of three decision-making under the retailer dominant;(3) under the two cases of manufacturers dominant and retailers dominant, the comparison of the similar decisions. Finally, some conclusions can be obtained and numerical examples are presented to verify these conclusions. The conclusions show that many factors can affect the manufacturer’s technology innovation on emission reduction, such as the market size, consumer preference for the low carbon products and the price of the low carbon product and so on. In addition, under certain conditions, when the manufacturer carries out the technology innovation on emission reduction, the supply chain members’ price and profits are higher than the manufacturer does not carry out the technology innovation on emission reduction. Under certain conditions, the retailer’s cost of sales also affects the decision that whether the manufacturer selects to carry out technology innovation on emission reduction with the retailer. These conclusions enrich the theory of the manufacturer carry out technology innovation on emission reduction, and provide reference for enterprises to implement low carbon innovation.
