Ro-ro Transport Market Demand Forecast And Competitive Strategy Research Of Yantai-dalian Line

In recent years Bohai Bay ro-ro transport market has got steady growth, especially the passenger ro-ro transport on sea between Dalian and Yantai,which has been "golden channel" connecting Northeast China and East China Sea. At the end of 2014,a Bohai Bay cargo ro-ro truck-and-trailer transport route was opened between Weifang and Yingkou.It combines the truck-and-trailer transport and ro-ro transport to ship cargoes.Theoretically this mode has advanced competitiveness and in future it will have a significant impact on Bohai Bay,especially the Yantai-Dalian passenger ro-ro transport. This paper aims to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze the impact of new competitors emerge on Yantai-Dalian passenger ro-ro transport,research its development strategy and predict future cargo throughput trends.After outlining development status of the Yantai-Dalian passenger ro-ro transport and the Yingkou-Weifang cargo ro-ro truck-and-trailer transport under the new situation,we analyze the Yantai-Dalian passenger ro-ro transport route with SWOT method,then we raise development strategy for Yantai-Dalian passenger ro-ro transport based on SWOT analysis.We respectively use Exponential Smoothing Method to predict passenger traffic volume of Yantai-Dalian passenger ro-ro transport and Grey Prediction Model to predict its cargo volume.The gray prediction theory did hypothesis considering the unknown assault caused by Yingkou-Weifang cargo ro-ro truck-and-trailer transportation market on Yantai-Dalian passenger ro-ro transport market,based on which we gray forecast future freight volume through its recent years’ freight volume.We hope that recommendations and predictive value of this paper can do some favor to Yantai-Dalian passenger ro-ro transport market and provide some prediction and decision support for managers.
