Study On The Operation Efficiency And Influencing Factors Of Tea Domestic Farm In Fujian Province

Tea and tea industry was first explicitly mentioned in 2009 in the central file, indicates the central government attach importance to tea industry. To promote the development of tea industry and ensure farmers’ income has become an important issue of the development of tea. In 2013, the concept of "family farm" was firstly appeared in a central file, the paper presented to encourage and support transfer the contract for land management to professional large farm, family farms, farmers’ cooperatives transfer, and the development of various forms of the moderate scale management. As the highest form of family-run agriculture, the raise of family farms both conform to the new trends in the current China’s agricultural development, but also solve the difficult problem of the stability and sustainability of the main business of future farming in our country. It’s an important carrier for the agricultural production turn to intensification, scale and modernization, and has great significance to the development of modern agriculture.On the basis of the analysis on the current situation of tea family farms operation, this study use DEA model which is variable in scale reward to estimates the operating efficiency of Fujian tea family farms. On this basis, further use of tobit regression model to explore the factors which affects the tea family farm operating efficiency and obtained the following main conclusions.First, the average of the overall comprehensive technical efficiency of the tea family farms is 0.174, indicating resource allocation capabilities and the overall level of resource efficiency of the tea family farms is not high, the average of pure technical efficiency is 0.764, pure technical efficiency reflected the usage efficiency level of the factor inputs when the tea family farms are in the optimum size. The average scale efficiency is 0.224, it is not high.Second, use the efficiency value measure and calculate by DEA as the dependent variable, select the influencing factor of 14 indicators in total in three areas, family farm and social characteristic, tea plantation factors as well as technologies and services. To analyze the influencing factor of tea family farm business efficiency by constructing tobit regression model. The result showed that among the 14 indicators selected,5 independent variables including the years of education,whether participated in tea planting technology training are not significantly affect the efficiency of the tea family farm business. Six independent variables including the tea planting time, the annual income per acre of tea plantation,the unit parcel area, whether the altitude exceeds 30 degrees, the rental,the frequency of receiving technical service,have significant positive influence on the efficiency of tea family farm business. The last three independent variables including age, family labor force and whether to join cooperative, have a significant negative impact on the tea family farm operating efficiency.
