Analysis Of Family Farm Operation Efficiency And Influencing Factors

In recent years,family farms are developing rapidly,and their production and operation have gradually developed in the direction of scale,standardization and intensification,and their operating efficiency has been continuously improved.The number of registered family farms in Jiangjin District of Chongqing City exceeds 1,000 households,and although the number is large,there is a problem of uneven development quality.Therefore,the author decided to investigate the operation status of family farms in Jiangjin District,and calculated the operating efficiency of family farms through relevant models,and analyzed the factors affecting the management efficiency of family farms.So as to provide more family farmers with a direction for improvement,and also provide relevant policy suggestions for the government to achieve the goal of sustainable and healthy development of family farms in Jiangjin District.This paper determines the direction by reading relevant literature and the theory of economies of scale,that is,mainly studying the operational efficiency of family farms;According to the theory of professional division of labor,family farms are divided into planting,breeding and planting-breeding combination;Finally,the influencing factor indicators are determined according to the input-output theory and the farmer behavior theory.Next,family farms in Jiangjin District were investigated,and operational efficiency and influencing factors were measured.The author randomly sampled six townships in Jiangjin District,including Degan Town,Jia Si Town,Youxi Town,Lishi Town,Pioneer Town,and Zhiping Township.A total of 90 questionnaires were distributed and 81 valid questionnaires were collected through in-depth interviews with the survey subjects.The two-stage DEA-Tobit model is used to calculate the operating efficiency value and influencing factors of family farms in Jiangjin District,and finally make relevant suggestions based on the research results.The main findings are as follows:(1)The overall comprehensive efficiency of family farms in Jiangjin District was at a medium level,of which the comprehensive efficiency level of breeding was 0.757,which was at a high level,while the comprehensive efficiency of planting and planting and breeding combination was at a medium level,0.574 and 0.528,respectively,but the scale efficiency values of planting and planting combined breeding were at a high level,0.894 and 0.820.In this paper,7 family farms reached optimal size,and more than half of the family farms were in a state of increasing scale efficiency;Family farms with decreasing scale efficiency accounted for 38.27%.(3)The most obvious factor affecting the operational efficiency of Jiangjin District was education level,but it was negatively correlated,while agricultural brand building was also negatively correlated within the 10% level;The impact of the use of financial loans and the establishment of systems with relevant management conditions on business efficiency is also very significant and positively correlated.The degree of agricultural mechanization and the main channels of sales were significant within 10% and positively correlated.Family farmers were negatively correlated with age and business experience;Family farmers’ access to knowledge,years of farm operation,purchase of agricultural insurance,and certification are positively correlated.(4)Countermeasures and suggestions: First,the government should focus on improving the business ability of family farmers,mainly through the certification of professional farmers to guide family farmers to actively study and train;It is necessary to cultivate the institutional awareness of family farmers.The second is to improve the policy support system,from the optimization of credit structure,research and development of mountain agricultural machinery,and improvement of agricultural infrastructure,these three aspects to support the development of agriculture.The third is to broaden the marketing channels of agricultural products,and encourage family farms to join regional public brands of agricultural products such as "Yijiang Jincai";Expand marketing channels through online platforms such as e-commerce,and encourage and train more farmers to do e-commerce.The fourth is to establish family farm associations and build an exchange platform for agricultural business entities to link more resources for family farms and achieve diversified cooperation.Fifth,family farmers are encouraged to operate on a moderate scale and make full use of resources to maximize their effectiveness.
