Going through the development progress of the vehicle marketing in recent years, the competition among different vehicle brand companies is getting hotter and hotter. In order to further expand its brand influence in market and grab more market share, each vehicle maker continuously introduce new science & technology and advanced production process technology to its new products.And meanwhile they also try their best to shorten the cycle of product upgrading greatly.As is known to all, the new product development process is the key process to develop the new technology and apply it for the mass production in a company. And project management scientific methodology is a "catalyst" of new product development process.G company is a foreign automotive parts company with product development, manufacturing and sales process.We supply components for some world’s primary truck manufacturers and some famous brand car manufacturers.As one part of the automotive industry, all automotive part enterprises are facing the same competitive environment as the vehicle enterprises. The aim of this dissertation was to study and improve G Company’s new product development project management process with the knowledge from what I learned during the MBA study period and previous working experience. Following the new product development process of G company, we studied all kinds of problems in different stage of new product development process systematically.And then we applied the scientific project management tools and knowledge to determine the solutions of all those problems accordingly. Finally we also combined and formalize all those relevant solutions to become parts of the company’s management system. That will be an institutional guarantee to ensure a better resources optimal allocation and project management in new product development process of G company in future.With cross function team effort together, finally we effectively improved the efficiency of the G company new product development, shortened the new product development cycle, reduced the cost of new product development process significantly, and ensured the better margin with better quality level and shorter lead time of product development. That will be new power not only to improve the G company market competitiveness but also to be good contribution for G company further development. No doubt, the research results and related experience are good reference for domestic similar industry to optimize and continuously improve their new product development process as well.
