Study On Division Of China Iron Ore Exploration And Development Base Using Cluster Analysis

Iron is an important material to protect the development of China’s steel industry; it plays an important role in our mining industry. Although China’s iron ore resources are relatively abundant, widely distributed, iron ore resources prospecting and exploitation continue to optimize the layout, but for a long time, supply and demand of iron ore resources has been very prominent, resource security situation is not optimistic now. This paper selects a topic from the division of the Mineral Resources Exploration and Development Base proposed by the third round of mineral resources planning. According to the study on the division of Iron ore Exploration and Development Base Based on the Cluster Analysis, using quantitative methods to get a breakthrough in the theory method and supporting the management decision of the Mineral Resources Exploration and Development Base In the field of management practice.This paper carding the study and the related technical method about iron ore and other mineral resources development base in order to confirm the theoretical basis of Mineral Resources Exploration and Development Base, according to analysis the factor that affecting the division of iron ore exploration and development base, constructing the index system of the division and choosing the SOFM as a method to divide, using the MATLAB7.0.1 and ARCGIS9.3, presenting and analyzing the result of the division iron ore exploration and development base after correcting the clustering results qualitatively.In this paper, we study the following main conclusions: The first is constructing the index system of the division of iron ore exploration and development base based on the analyzing of theory, including 6 indexes as proven reserves, the scale of exploitation, the number of big- and medium-size mines, the degree of transportation advantage, the important of ecological functions, RDLS. The second is presenting 11 iron ore exploration and development bases, including JIDONGBEI base, JILIAO base, PANDIAN base, JINZHONGBEI base, JINJIYU base, MENGZHONG base, YUXI base, E`YUWAN base, LONGXI base, SHAN`E base, LUDONGNAN base. The third is analyzing and assessing every one of the 11 bases from a general view, the proven reserves of the 11 bases accounting for 89.7% of the country’s total, the number of big- and medium-size mines accounting for 74.4%, the scale of exploitation accounting for 78.6%, it can be formed on the space to ensure the safety of China’s iron ore resources of core region. The JIDONGBEI base, JILIAO base, PANDIAN base, E`YUWAN base is occurrence and the development and utilization of iron ore resources in our country is most concentrated distribution area.The fourth is judging Based on the classification indexes, the 11 bases are divided into main exploration development base, the strategic reserve base and coordinated development base, the regional differentiation of mineral resources management has certain reference significance.
