Price Fluctuations And Factors Of Vegetables In Heilongjiang Province

Vegetables are essential consumer goods on the table everyday. In people’s diet, the vegetables can regulate people’s nutritional balance and add a variety of elements which are necessary in the human body. To achieve the role of the protection of human health, everyone needs vegetables. Heilongjiang Province is an important vegetable production base of our country. Abundant precipitation,sunshine,fertile black soil and other unique natural and climatic conditions in Heilongjiang Province make the vegetables in category can take root in the black soil and thrive. Heilongjiang Province has become the very important basket base of country. Heilongjiang Province is not only an important vegetable production base but also a vegetable consumption base. As the daily necessities residents, the price of vegetables affect the government, residents and vegetable farmers nerves all the time. In recent years, the vegetables price in Heilongjiang Province has had upward trend year by year. Accompany with upward trend, the price of vegetables also appears sharp fluctuations. Fluctuations in the price of vegetables would have a significant impact in residents and vegetable farmers. On the one hand, it affects the daily life of the residents, especially the low-income people. Fluctuations would not conducive to improving their living standards. On the other hand it affects the stability of farmers to produce vegetables. Fluctuations of vegetables price would create uncertainty of vegetable production. Therefore, in order to improve people’s livelihood, safeguard people’s living standards, stabilize vegetable production and increase farmers’ income, conducting the study of vegetable production, situation of price fluctuations and various factors affecting the price fluctuations of vegetables would become very important.In this paper, based on the theory of equilibrium price, cobweb theory, price fluctuations theory and farmers produce behavioral theory, adopts normative analysis and empirical analysis, document analysis and other research methods to analyze and explain the vegetable production, situation of price fluctuations and factors affecting the price fluctuations of vegetables in Heilongjiang Province. Also using multiple linear regression model to measure the impact of various factors in fluctuating of vegetable price. The results show that vegetable production in Heilongjiang Province has gradually formed a solid production patterns after these years of development. The trait of fluctuations in vegetables price of Heilongjiang Province shows the volatility of long-term growth trend. Variety of factors affecting supply and demand of vegetables, such as produce and consumption, production cost, natural and climatic disasters, economic growth, the level of consumption, market information, consumer habits and government macroeconomic regulation and control would have the major impact in vegetable price fluctuations of Heilongjiang Province. The results by empirical analysis obtain that changes in the factor of production cost and the factor of produce and consumption would affect the fluctuations in vegetables price most dramatic, followed by natural and climatic disasters factors and so on. Therefore the regulation of prices of agricultural production and stabilizing of produce and consumption of vegetables would have become the focus work of Heilongjiang Province. Finally, for the various factors which affect the fluctuations in vegetables price of Heilongjiang Province, propose policies and proposals targeted to mitigate the severe fluctuations in price of vegetables.
