The income gap between urban and rural residents has been favored by the attention of the social aspect; reform of income distribution system has also been put on the agenda. Under the income of urban residents higher the level of income of rural residents, deepen the reform of the distribution system, balance urban and rural development, narrowing the urban and rural residents income gap has been a focus of domestic and international scholars research. Therefore, how to measure the income gap between urban and rural residents and to find factors that affect the change has an important theoretical value and practical significance. This paper, taking the income gap between urban and rural residents as the research object, researches it from measure methods and factor analysis. On the one hand, by combing on measure methods of the income gap between urban and rural residents, proposes an improved data combination method to estimate the mixed Gini coefficient of urban and rural residents. On the other hand, factor analysis starts off from both theory and empirical aspects, in the process of empirical analysis, first of all use the method of gray correlation analysis to obtain the main factors, and then regress them to make the research results more credible. The research found: the Gini coefficients of urban residents and rural residents shows a first increasing and then decreasing trend, the Gini coefficients of overall population reached the maximum in 2008. The urbanization rate has a significant impact on the income gap between urban and rural residents. Accelerating urbanization contribute to narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents. However, the increasing of industrialization has a significantly pull on the income gap between urban and rural residents. Urban and rural dual contrast coefficient indicates that productivity differences between department of Agriculture and non-agricultural sector, the larger difference the lager income gap. The expanding of financial scale and improving of financial efficiency wide the income gap between urban and rural residents. The innovations of this paper have main performance in the following aspects. (1) A more systematic and comprehensive summary of the estimated mix of urban and rural Gini coefficient method and when measures the income gap between urban and rural residents, we use an improved method to calculate it. (2) In the study of factors that influence the change of income gap between urban and rural residents, we combine theoretical analysis and empirical analysis. On the basis of more comprehensive summary of the various factors that influence the change, we use the method of grey incidence analysis to determine correlation, and then regress the factors with lager correlation to obtain the major factors. It has certain reference significance for future research.
