China has entered into the Period of accelerated economic restructuring. The social economy development will usher in a new phase of economic structure and social structure, and the change will deeper intensified. With the high-speed economic development, the income gap of residents is constantly expanding, which becomes the hotspot of all circles scholars, politicians and even ordinary people.Beijing is one of the areas with the highest level of modernization, and represents the Chinese metropolis of future development direction. Research for the change of income gap between urban and rural residents and influencing factors, is of great value for apocalypse meaning and policy for both Beijing and other cities. In accelerating transformation period, to grasp the transformation of Beijing residents status, to explore the reasons for the income gap between urban and rural residents, to analyze the trend of the income gap between urban and rural residents, to extend the influence to Beijing's construction, and to discuss the ways to narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents have profound realistic significance. Meanwhile, the income gap problem research also will favor the traditional income distribution theory development in the new times.This article mainly includes the following parts:(1) The article has a systemic introduction of the background and significance of the research on the income gap issue between Beijing's urban and rural residents, making a classification and summary on the relevant information, introducing some relative theories as Beijing's urban and rural residents' income distribution pattern, the income gap, the evaluation, indicators and approaches to provide a theoretical and practical basic for the article.(2) According to the statics and information of the 2000-2010 "China statistical yearbook" and "Beijing statistical yearbook", the article takes the perspective of time and space, analyzing the difference and changes of ratio of the income gap between 2000-2010 Beijing's urban and rural residents, and compared with the average level of the nationwide residents. In addition, the article chooses Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Nanjing as the objects of comparison, analyzing the difference and the changes of ratio between the urban and rural residents'per capita income.(3) According to the special background of the economic transition period, the article includes the research of the influences of Beijing's urban and rural residents' income gap from the two levels of the economic development and social development. At the same time, the article explores the deep-rooted causes of the expansion of the urban and rural residents' income gap from a perspective of natural factor, institutional factor and public goods supply factor, systemically analyzing the mechanism of influences and impacts of various factors on the expansion of the urban and rural residents' income gap.(4) On the basis of the analysis above, the article gets the conclusion of the research, making some political suggestions on how to reduce the income gap between Beijing's urban and rural residents, in order to provide theoretical basis and practical guidance for promoting Beijing's coordinated development of urban and rural economy.
