Railway Corridor Passenger Transport Product Optimization

With the fast development of China’s railway construction in recent years, part of some important railway transportation corridor has adopted the parallel mode in railway, elevating the capabilities and conditions of railway transportation tremendously and providing a basic support to the marketization of railway transportation. Passenger transportation products in railway corridor in current phase also meet with huge challenges from those in airline and highway, accordingly, it is particularly important to promote the quality and competitiveness of passenger transportation products. The optimization process of passenger transportation products is exactly the process of the promotion of competiveness. Under the market’s competitive condition, transportation companies should produce passenger transportation products which can satisfy passengers’needs and meanwhile guarantee some certain difference in these products. What’s more, the coordination among all kinds of passenger transportation products in railway corridor should be optimized.This thesis firstly gives an analysis of the current status of products’structure and difference based on the present theories about product optimization at home and abroad and establishes Quality Evaluation Model of passenger transportation products in railway corridor. Secondly, the paper proposes some optimization ways towards the essential elements of these products and sets up the proper matching relation of speed and ticket price between the passenger transportation products of the existing line and high-speed railway by using the concept of time value. The paper can be divided into the following parts:(1) Define the concept of passenger transportation products’quality and introduce the main contents of the quality of these products by analyzing the existing overall concept of quality and the theory about passengers’needs.Conduct the analysis of the main characters of the passenger transportation products combined with the current situation of these products.(2) Conclude that there exits some problems in the structure of quantity and speed between the passenger transportation products of the existing lines and the high-speed railway in the current phase by analyzing the current status of two important railways in China-Jing Guang and Jing Hu. Besides, high price is another problem.(3)Quality evaluation model of passenger transportation product is established. The paper conducts a comprehensive evaluation of the quality of the product from safety, rapidity, economy, convenience, comfort, and punctuality and provides a direction for product optimization.(4)The thesis focuses on proposing optimization methods of the core elements of passenger transportation products and provides theoretical methods used to optimize speed structure and ticket price of passenger transportation products in railway corridor by using sensitivity analysis of the share rate of speed and fare.(5)Taking Wuhan-Guangzhou railway tunnel as an example, the paper provides the methods about the improvement and optimization of passenger transportation products in Wuhan-Guangzhou railway tunnel by using the above introduction of the evaluation and methods of optimization.
