Since China has joined the WTO, the financial market opening degree becomes more and more high. With the development of economy, the financial demand is increasing. The competition is increasingly fierce in financial industry, because foreign commercial banks have entered the chinese market. In order to improve the quality of staff and avoid a disorderly situation of talent competition and promote the rapid development of commercial banks in China, it has important significance to study on the staff training systems of chinese and foreign commercial banks.Although the developmental process and internal and external environments of foreign banks are quite different, the methods of human resources development are the same. They all treat staff training as the most effective way to improve the quality of staff.This article comparatively studies on the staff training systems of chinese and foreign commercial banks, and takes large chinese and foreign commercial banks as the objects in Z bank and W bank as examples.Firstly, based on the theory related to staff training, this paper summarizes the status and deficiencies in the research field of staff training system about chinese and foreign commercial banks. The author analyzes the advantages, disadvantages,opportunities and threats of chinese and foreign commercial banks. This paper also expounds the significance of perfect staff training system.Secondly, the paper analyses the implementation on staff training system in chinese Z bank and foreign W bank from the point of training objectives, needs analysis, and so on.Thirdly, the differences in staff training system between chinese and foreign bank are compared on the basis of chinese Z bank and foreign W bank, and the causes are analyzed.In order to help chinese and foreign commercial banks to improve their staff training systems and promote the development of China’s commercial banks, suggestions are put forward for two types of banks in this paper.The chinese commercial banks had better improve the system execution, training methods of corporate culture, and the training effect evaluation system. The chinese commercial banks also should pay attention to staff personal occupation development, introduce modern training methods, and increase the training incentive intensity.The foreign commercial banks could be forward business skills training, pay attention to job rotation training, encourage staffs to participate in academic training, and classify the vocational training.
