| With the continuous rapid development of social economy and urbanization, China’s migrant workers as a group have went through their generational change. The new generation of farmers has gradually become the main force in the society, and plays an important role in industrialization and modernization drive. However, problems with regard to the occupational training for migrant workers and the development of the new generation of these workers have been the widespread concern in the community. If these problems cannot be promptly resolved, it will affect the further development of the country. Through the research on the occupational training for migrant workers in Chengdu, we found that the problems in this regard for the Cenozoic migrant workers and related countermeasures had not been reported. Therefore, this research has referenced value for later researches and social significance.Chengdu is a city with the largest number of migrant workers in the western region, and this city has abundant educational resources. This paper mainly uses methods of field investigation, interview, comparative study, and literature research. It also takes advantage of knowledge of economics, demography, sociology, management science, psychology and pedagogy to analyze the survey findings concerning the new generation of migrant workers in Chengdu. This article mainly focuses on the following four aspects:First, taking a comparative study of the relevant theories about the occupational training of migrant workers at home and abroad for teasing out the successful models and advanced ideas; Second, reviewing the current situation of the development of the basic theories and the domestic and foreign ways of occupational training for migrant workers, as well as summarizing the characteristics of the new generation of migrant workers, in order to find the current situation of the occupational training, its existing problems, and the necessity and urgency of conducting the occupational training; Third, analyzing main problems existing in the occupational training for the new generation of migrant workers initiated by Chengdu government; Fourth, proposing the suggestions and countermeasures for the occupational training of the new generation of migrant workers. Referring to the research achievements at home and abroad and the case analysis in Chengdu City, this paper proposes the countermeasures for problems in this field such as strengthening the government management, establishing cooperation mechanisms, improving the social status of migrant workers, enhancing innovation system, security system, and the connotation construction, stimulating the enthusiasm for learning among the migrant worker, strengthening the production link, and highlighting the characteristics of this project.The occupational training for the migrant workers in the future in Chengdu should be a localized one and it should be optimized through deepening reforms of mechanisms of propaganda, training, support and encouragement. |
