China’s agricultural trade deficit has been maintained for several years, and the deficit continues to expand. The scale and structure of agricultural trade have also changed. The situation is not optimistic about the future. Central government has implemented the policy of agricultural subsidies for ten years, and agriculture investment has formed a certain stage.However, whether the current investment in agriculture is sufficient to support the development of agricultural trade effectively, whether existing investment structure is conducive to the development of agricultural trade need to be further discussed and studied. The paper divides the investors into several categories and studies the effects about investment on agricultural trade in several major domestic agricultural trade area.In this paper, some methods were applied into research, including combination of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The author analyzed the status about the investment in agriculture and trade in agriculture products. At last, the author studied the quantitative relationship between agricultural investment and trade with the empirical methodFirst, this paper reviewed the literature, discussed the impact of agricultural investment on agricultural trade.Second, this paper analyzed the status about the investment in agriculture and agriculture trade. Firstly, the author analyzed the status about the investment in agriculture on the basis of the stages of trade development, and intuitively reflected the trend relationship between the investment in agriculture and trade development. Secondly, the author studied the relationship between investment and trade in agriculture with each regional data on the basis of the main areas of agricultural trade. Thus, it made conclusions more persuasive and policy recommendations more informative.Then, this paper quantitatively analyzed the impact of investments from each investor on agricultural trade in the eastern, central and western regions on the basis of the dates in nearly 11 years about 31 provinces. The empirical results showed that financial investment in agriculture, farmers investment and FDI in agricultural affected agricultural export trade significantly. This means that agricultural investment was significant factor of agricultural trade. Moreover, the first two kinds of investment is positive on the export of agricultural products, and foreign direct investment is negative on it.In the empirical study which was based on the regions, the results showed that the investment behavior of farmers in eastern regions had a great impact on exports, foreign direct investment in the central region affected trade significantly, and financial agricultural investment made a significant contribution to agricultural export in the western region.Finally, put forward the corresponding policy recommendations based on the foregoing conclusions.
