Research On The Transformation And Upgrading Development Strategy Of Dalian Port

With the rapid development of economic globalization and regional economic integration, more and more port cities begin to make adjustments to the economic structure and layout of the port, abandon the old port area, and move the operation area to deep water area. The transformation and upgrading of the port can not only promote the development of port economy and port industrial upgrading, but also promote city’s economic level significantly, improve the competitiveness of the port city.In the strategy of "One Belt and One Road", the stride of integration between China and world economics will be further lengthened. The construction of "the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road" will bring new opportunities to China’s transformation and upgrading of ports. Each major ports should formulate the corresponding transformation of development strategy in time, seize the opportunity and meet the challenge. So the research on the transformation and upgrading of the port development strategy is of great significance.Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign ports transformation and upgrading cases, and the investigation of the current development situation of Dalian port, this paper explores the problems inside the port development, expounds the necessity of transformation and upgrading of Dalian Port. Through the analysis of the macro environment of Dalian Port and the comparison with the surrounding major ports, this paper evaluates the competitiveness of Dalian Port, confirms the ability and potential of transformation and development, and finally puts forward some feasible suggestions for the transformation and upgrading of Dalian Port. The research results can provide a reference for future transformation and upgrading of Dalian Port.
