The Impact Of FDI On Our Enterprises’ Independent Innovation Ability

Under the context of globalization, the number of foreign direct investment is increasing dramatically. It has been proved that FDI contributed a lot to the economic development. There is no doubt that foreign direct investment plays a very important role in the "Chinese-style increase". As we all know, foreign direct investment created a lot of jobs and improved the wages, as a result it boost economic development. With the environment and energy shortage problem becoming more seriously, the quality of economic development and the sustainable development attracted many scholars. It’s meaningful to study the role of FDI in improving our enterprises’ independent innovation ability. The role of FDI in improving our enterprises’ independent innovation ability is becoming a hot issue.In this paper, on the basis of research results of former scholars, a definition of independent innovation ability was given at first, followed by the empirical analysis of the role of FDI in improving domestic enterprises’independent innovation ability. In this paper, independent innovation ability is the ability that the enterprises carry out innovation in respond to the demand and put the innovation into practice. In a word, it’s a comprehensive ability. This paper carries out empirical analysis on the impact of FDI over independent innovation of enterprises with the panel data. In consider of other control variables, this paper analysis this problem from both innovation input and innovation output. Regardless the technology gap, the relationship between FDI and independent innovation is positive. The result will be same if we take the technology gap into account. As a group of low technical level, the relationship between FDI and independent innovation is stronger, and the relationship between FDI and independent innovation is weaker. In addition, this paper provides many advices to improve the independent innovation ability.
