The high-tech industries in china has grown rapidly Since the reform and opening up policy.China has become the world’s top exporter of the high-tech goods,But not a competitive one.There’s about 60% of export rely on the processing trade,and the foreign trade structure of China should be optimized urgently.The Intellectual capital as the key factor to contribute to the world’s economy growth, So it is necessary to analyze the relationship about Intellectual capital with international competitiveness.Using the related data about the high-tech industries in China from 1996 to 2012, We analyze the the relationship between intellectual capital and international competitiveness from region and industry level. we establish VAR models with considering about the inflation and a time lag.The results show that:There are different factors that affect the international competitiveness of the region and industry.The east region shows that the expenditure on technology absorption, purchase of domestic technology and R&D can contribute more to the growth of international competitiveness.In the central region,technology absorption,purchase of domestic technology and technology import can enhance its international competitiveness.Expenditure on technology import and technology absorption can help west region improve its international competitiveness.On the industrial level,technology import and technology absorption can improve the international competitiveness of Manufacture of Medical and Pharmaceutical Products & Manufacture of Aircraft and Spacecraft,Electronic and Telecommunications Equipment need input more technology import,Manufacture of Computers and Office Equipments requires more expense on domestic technology、human capital and R&D, Manufacture of Medical Equipments and Meters demand more R&D expense.We sums up the research conclusion above, and make suggestions for the different region and industries.Summarize above studies, we think it is a must to increase the intellectual capital input, but we have to know exactly that different type of intellectual capital input to different region and industries will affect their international competitiveness.
