With the progress of global economic integration quickening, the external environment of enterprises is in the great change, the competition between enterprises is becoming more and more fierce, how to improve the core competitiveness and get the maximum value in this environment becomes a problem that every company must face. Therefore, more and more administrators beginning to realize that the optimization of enterprise performance management is the key if companies want to keep a foothold in the competition. To establish a systemic and scientific performance management system is critical for the success of the enterprise.On the one hand, in the traditional performance management system, only the financial indicators are concerned, and those non-financial indicators that have important role are not get enough attention, which result in that many practical applications of performance management float in the form and the effect is not ideal; on the other hand, in the traditional performance management system, the performance assessment indicators are seriously disconnected with the strategic objectives, which lead to the low strategic guidance quality of performance management system, and can not effectively promote the long-term development of enterprises. Therefore, how to establish a performance management system closely connected with strategic objectives for enterprise has became a big challenge in the field.Balanced Scorecard as a new performance assessment tool, it decomposes the enterprise strategic objectives layer by layer to the operational indicators and targets, so that the daily work of each employees in the enterprise are in close contact with strategic objectives, thus the realization of corporate strategic goals is ensured. Balanced Scorecard method not only provides a new performance appraisal framework, but also provides new ideas and methods for managers to establish strategic-oriented performance management system.In this paper, at first, based on the analysis of performance management research situation at home and abroad, the basic theory of Balanced Scorecard is described, and compared with other performance management methods, the advantages of Balanced Scorecard are analyzed. Secondly, the performance management situation and problems existed of A furniture company are analyzed, and the necessity for A company to implement Balanced Scorecard is researched and analyzed. Again, based on the Balanced Scorecard theory, the performance management system of A company is established, the Balanced Scorecards for corporate level, department level and staff level are designed respectively. Finally, in order to successfully implement the Balanced Scorecard performance management system, a series of safeguard measures are formulated.
