A Company Server Schedule Management On New Product Development

With the rapid development of the Internet industry and technology, the demand with so many server products grows faster. The server is a complex product to develop, because it includes many parts, such as electronic circuit design, mechanism design, manufacturing, assembly system platform setup, quality related testing. Therefore, project schedule management is particularly important, it will affect to the product launch time and market share.In this paper, according to the project management status of A company, I use model RS300-E8 of A company server as an example to set up schedule target, then do the analysis and improvement action. In this paper, it include:(1)introduce the project management and project schedule theoretical knowledge, and base on the work breakdown structure(WBS) of RS300-E8, I uses network planning technology to create the schedule network chart.(2)After calculate the time of each working item base on the experiment, i use the critical path method to get the initial project schedule for the new product development. Then do the analysis on the whole project, found the critical steps and propose some solutions based on the theory of relevant project schedule management, in order to cut down the development time to meet the target. Finally,the whole project schedule is under the control.(3) There are some conclusions of this paper, which raises some questions in this project schedule management practical and the direction to do improvement in the future.
