Constantly developing new products is the fundamental way for enterprises to extend and grow their business, while the key element is the quality and developing speed of the new product and the effective measures to ensure the quality and shorten the cycle is using advanced management methods for new product development. The way the development t enhancing new product development capabilities through the combination of new product and project management has become the only way for an enterprise to achieve continued growth and success.This paper briefly introduced the new product development, project management, FMEA and other management theory, analyzes some problems that S company developing new product development: the organizational structure, development mode, project planning and schedule control, project risk management. Use of project organization structure, responsibility matrix, work breakdown structures, critical path method, FMEA methods and technology, as schedule management for the core research content, at the same time by type 200 motor project as a case, from the aspects of the project schedule and risk management, put forward the improvement measures, in order to achieve shorten the development cycle of the target.This article is not only briefly focusing on new product development and project management basic concepts, but also concentrate on the specific operation of new product development and the implementation level. This article is the summarization of the practice of project management applied research in the S Company’s new product development and optimization suggestions.
