Cultivated land is important material base for human’s survival and development, is irreplaceable means of production. A large population with relatively little land is a basic national conditions of our country, since the reform and opening-up policy, the man-land relations in China increasingly nervous with the increasing number of population.With the sharpening contradiction between population and cultivated land, intensified and food consumption level has increased, the shortage of arable land will be even worse.To solve the problem of cultivated land resource shortage, traditional way mainly depends on administrative and engineering measures, such as adjust land use pattern, expansion of tillage and increase yield per unit area. However, by means of economy, management, and system to solve the problem of cultivated land resource crisis did not attached enough importance. Virtual farmland strategy, from the new view of the economy and system, introducing market mechanism to realize the effective using of cultivated land resources and optimize configuration, finally achieve a goal of optimize land use structure, protect arable land and food security, harmonizing the contradiction between food, construction and ecological.This the paper analyzes the virtual cultivated land loss amount of Jilin province from 2004 to 2013 from the perspective of virtual farmland, and using the imbalance index to analyzes multi-factor which affects the amount of profit and loss.(1)On the basis of calculate virtual farmland content of main food crops of Jilin province from 2004 to 2013,accounting for 2004-2013 virtual farmland production, consumption amount of profit and loss in Jilin province. Corn virtual farmland is in surplus, rice virtual cultivated land can guarantee a slight surplus, soybean virtual farmland only get a slight surplus in 2004, then it has been negative for the next nine years, output can not meet the needs of the local residents.(2) Using ARCGIS map main food crops virtual arable land amount of profit and loss space distribution in Jilin province, analysis of the spatial distribution characteristics. Corn virtual farmland loss amount heading west high grade distribution area; Rice lower level distribution area range reduced, virtual farmland surplus greatly increased; Soybean high-grade areal range sharply narrowed, deficit area almost covers the whole Jilin province; wheat virtual farmland deficit degree has eased, but the whole provincial is still in the state of deficiency.(3) Application unbalanced development index, analysis the degree of matchingrelations between profit and loss of virtual farmland resources environment and economic development factor. Jilin province virtual farmland loss quantity and cultivated land area have the highest degree in spatial matching, as the improvement of agricultural technology, the matching degree increased, the matching degree between virtual cultivated land loss amount and GDP is the lowest.(4) Establish virtual farmland strategy to protect the safety of food, from following four aspects:optimization of crop planting structure, adjust the industrial structure, encourage the trade of virtual farmland, to set up the policy guarantee system, put forward policy suggestions to promote the coordinated development of virtual land and economic development of Jilin province.
