Research On China’s Tourism Resort Management System

Tourist resorts provide space for vacation tourism. There has been half-century history of tourist resorts abroad; however, Chinese tourist resorts started their development since the approval of national tourist resort construction by the State Council in 1992.21st century witnesses a great progress of Chinese tourist resorts, for most provinces contribute efforts to their construction.It’s an innovation of tourism industry development to construct and manage tourist resorts in China. During 30-year development, tourist resorts contribute greatly to the development of tourism industry as a pillar of Chinese national economy. Whereas, high speed development of tourist resorts also exposes lots of problems, especially problems in administrative management, land management, investment and financing management. This study takes the Yangtze River Estuary Tourism Resort in Taicang, Jiangsu as an example, and makes comparisons among management system of economic development zone, tourism scenic area and tourist resort, in order to analyze problems in current management system of tourist resorts and moreover build a scientific and efficient management system.This paper firstly gives a specific and detailed introduction to the development and long-term planning of Yangtze River Estuary Tourism Resort. Challenges and problems of administrative management, land management, investment and financing management are then analyzed. Lastly, to solve these problems, suggestions are made as full authorization and efficient operation of tourism resort administrative committee, multi-way of land use and attracting investment from various social capitals. This study is expected to benefit the development of Yangtze River Estuary in Taicang Tourism Resort, and further make contributions to improve the administrative management system of Chinese tourist resorts.
