Petrochemical industry is the mainstay industry and basic industries for the national economy, having a very important role in promoting the upgrading of related industries and stimulating economic growth. "Twelve Five " is the important strategic opportunities of national economic development, but also the critical period of the petrochemical industry development. In 2012, the economic operation of petrochemical industry remained stable, but by excess capacity, high cost of finance, export disorder and other factors, the overall efficiency of the whole industry downward. Faced with such a grim situation, a petrochemical enterprises urgently need to address each issue that how to enhance the competitiveness in the fierce competition in the long-term sustainable development.In this paper, Fujian Petrochemical Corporation as an object, to research how to achieve sustainable development strategic planning in the complex internal and external environment,Based on the analysis of the political, economic, social, technical external environment, combined the company’s industry background to dig out of the opportunities and threats with strengths and weaknesses, through the SWOT analysis to determine that the overall development strategy is the mixed strategy; By boston matrix analysis to identify that the company-level strategy is the diversification strategy; in the business strategy, a cost decentralization strategy adopted to the star products, the taurus products using differences decentralization strategy, the products in question using overall cost leadership strategy, the skinny dog products using differentiation strategy or abandon strategy.After the Strategy formulation, Fujian Petrochemical Group can carry out implementation of the strategy from the management and control system, project construction and development, cooperation and seek common development, improving product mix, increase research and development efforts, standardize and the safety management and improve the internal audit:The strategy seeks to develop specific programs and content to truly implement the enterprise level. To ensure the smooth implementation of the strategy, this paper analyzes the strategies that may arise during the implementation of the risk, and proposes the appropriate safeguards from the organizational structure, human resources, incentives, information systems, financing, legal system and corporate culture and other aspects.
