Since 2002 five text about the power system reform issued, electric power system reform pace is more and more urgent. We can see that the reform efforts and determination is more powerful. With the deeper reform, the increasingly fierce competition, the philosophy and concept of company management has changed a lot, especially in view of the engineering project cost management.GDS Company was established in August 1958, the predecessor totrace the history is full of change. Before the separation reform of main business and subsidiary, the company’s main business was single, the competition of market was not fierce. However, since the separation reform has taken place in 2011, the competition number increase, within the scope of the province in company is basically achieved full competition. GDS companies also realize unprecedented survival crisis, together with other relevant national policy now, begin to realize the importance and urgency of "cutting expenditure". The "open source" refer s to the market and the expansion of business, and "throttling" is the mana gement of project cost, to reduce the cost and improve the efficiencies.The research method of this article is combining theory and data analysis, based on the history data and management forms of analysis, from the two aspects of quantitative and qualitative GDS companies detailed carding and research the situation of the project cost, find out the defects at present, the company’s project cost management, and enterprise engineering project cost is not controlled, the cause of the decline in margins, market competitiveness is not strong.On the basis of the analysis, the author try to more comprehensive m ining company of the defects of engineering project cost management, through detailed analysis, the causes of ideas, strengthen the management measuresandcontrolactivity, reduce the project cost, avoid th e loss of the enterprise benefit, improve the efficiency of cost control and management. Emphasize the overall cost control plays an important role in the project; guarantee the truthfulness and accuracy of the company’s pr oject cost.
