Empirical Study Of Efficiency Of Milk Cow’s Different Breeding Styles In Inner Mongolia Based On DEA Model

The dairy industry in China started late but developing very fast, it playing an more and more important role in the primary sector. With the development of economic, dairy products once came to table and went aboard as a symbol of healthy. However, with the increasing economic interests, criminals appeared,the security incident of milk products appeared frequently,the famous "Melamine incident" pushed the food safety incidents to it’s climax. Many people thought the reason to this bad phenomenon is due to the individual breeding farmers who playing a leading role in milk cow’s breeding in a long time, under the guidance of the government, individual breeding farmers came into the ranch and cooperative gradually.Using DEA model, this thesis analyzed the three styles of milk cow’s breeding surrounding Hohhot, Inner Mongolia from efficiency angle, the three styles are the ranch、cooperative and dairy farmers. The result suggests that among the three breeding styles, the breeding efficiency of Dairy farmers is the lowest and the degree of it’s input factors redundancy is higher, both the ranch and cooperative have a higher overall efficiency of milk cow’s breeding, in contrast,the ranch’s overall efficiency is higher than the cooperative,the main reason for the low overall efficiency of cooperative breeding is due to it’s lower pure technical efficiency, depending on this,we should learn ranch’s milk cow’s breeding technology and cooperative’s breeding scale,Combing with own situation,from the two aspects of technology and scale, thereby increasing the overall efficiency of milk cow’s breeding in Inner Mongolia.
