In recent years,Chinese residents' demand for milk increased gradually,the dairy industry developed rapidly,but the development process has been facing many new situations and new challenges.With the advancement of the internationalization progress of the dairy market,the types and quantities of imported dairy products have grown swiftly,greatly impact the development of the domestic dairy industry,in 2013,fanning industry appeared "milk shortage",in 2014,dairy farmers "pour milk" added a trepidation to farmers.Backyard farmers have made great contributions to the initial development of Chinese dairy industry,However,The increasing breeding cost,fluctuating milk price,continuous shortage of labor,especially the strict supervision requirement of dairy quality and safety,most backyard farming mode has been unable to meet the requirements of environmental protection and health and epidemic prevention.In this paper,Hohhot and Baotou of Inner Mongolia were elected as the research area.stratified random sampling method was used for face to face investigation,preliminary statistical description was made about three kinds of dairy farming patterns in Inner Mongolia from the perspective of input and output,simultaneously a simple statistical description was proceed for the other variables that influencing efficiency factors,and then the stochastic frontier analysis method(SFA)was applied from the perspective of efficiency of different farming modes for empirical analysis.The results show that the average technical efficiency of dairy farming in Inner Mongolia is 0.83,which still have a large room for improvement.Among the three modes,the efficiency of ranch is the highest,reaching 0.88,followed by breeding community is 0.84,backyard farming is relatively low,which is 0.74.Among the factors that influencing the technical efficiency,the ranch and community farming patterns and the amount of dairy cows have a significant positive impact on the technical efficiency levels of the different farming modes operators,the years of breeding and the ratio of concentrate to roughage have a significant negative effect on the technical efficiency.Finally,based on the research results,from the perspective of government,milk enterprises and farming operators of different models respectively,propose suggestions that are beneficial to improve output,increase quality,save costs and raise efficiency.
