Competency is a subject where current enterprises pay more and more attention. Its main meaning is providing scientific reference for enterprise talent selection and job settings through competency modeling. Competency modeling emphasize on, building competency model and business characteristics and job demands by scientific research and analysis which helps human resource managers make the right decisions.Competency theory provides a new solution to the enterprise in terms of talent demand and training. Building suitable competency model help companies find more accurately talents adapting to the demand of the position, corporate vision and corporate culture.Meanwhile, performing staff training by taking elements of competency as standard, can enhance the quality of employees and create greater performance for the enterprise.Corporate middle managers are vital to the survival and development of enterprises. As an important hierarchy in the nexus of the enterprise, the importance of competency middle managers of enterprises has become increasingly prominent. Therefore, building corporate competency model of middle managers has a very important practical significance. This thesis builds a middle management competency model for YC Petrochemical Company on the basis of the relevant literature at home and abroad, through interviews, questionnaires, data analysis, etc... And expositions are made on application of the competency model in terms of the personnel selection and training of staff It also put forward proposals to enhance the competency of employees. In conclusion made a summary and outlook is made on the results of the study.
