Researching The Increase Of Herdsmen’s Income Based On The Construction Of Grassland Animal Husbandry Industry Chain

As an important part of animal husbandry, grassland animal husbandry plays a pivotal role in pastoral area economy. Being a major producer of grassland animal husbandry,herdsmen, their income is related to their own vital interests. Strengthen the construction of grassland animal husbandry industry chain, is a basic idea to solve the problem of low herdsmen income and the difficult of increasing their income, and a important way to make the herdsmen have the added value of what the construction of industry chain brings.Therefore, to promote the construction of grassland animal husbandry industry chain, promote the increasing of the herdsmen income, is a great significance to the development of local grassland animal husbandry, and the development of local economic, as well as local social stability.Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in the southwest of Gansu Province,it’s on the transition area of northeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau and the western Loess Plateau. It goes with vast grasslands, perennial low temperatures, changing weather, strong sunlight and large temperature difference between day and night on the territory. There are Tibetan, Han, Hui, Tu, Mongolian and other 24 ethnic groups within Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and 50% of the total is Tibetan population; 82% of the total population is in agriculture and animal husbandry. However, due to the natural environment and minority language exchange inconvenience and other conditions, there are imperfect construction of grassland animal husbandry industry chain, low income and low growth of the herdsmen and so many other problems.Beginning from the perspective of the construction of grassland animal husbandry industry chain, by reviewing the related literatures at home and abroad, also the information and data acquired in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, this paper shows the analysis of the situation of herdsmen’s income and the construction of grassland animal husbandry chain condition.First of all, The status quo is low income and low growth of the herdsmen in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the disparities between the per capita net income of farmers and herdsmen and urban residents’ disposable income, the single structure of herdsmen income, large deficit of the herdsmen, and the growing productive expenditure. The summary of reasons for the slow growth of herdsmen income mainly are yearly of grassland ecological deterioration, poverty, low levels of basic education, imperfection of grassland animal husbandry industry chain. Comparing to the developed provinces in grassland animal husbandry, it can be seen that promote the constriction of grassland animal husbandry industry chain is significant to improve the income for herdsmen.Second, the grassland animal husbandry industry in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is mainly concentrated in three industries, the yak breeding industry, the cattle yak breeding industry, and the Tibetan sheep breeding industry. In this paper, the forage base,animal disease prevention and control system, breeding system, farming material and equipment, specialized cooperative organizations, herdsmen vocational skills training, animal products processing enterprises, the livestock market system, in these eight aspects, it has showed the existing grassland animal husbandry industry chain and supporting systems of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, discussed the composition subjects of the chain, the forage processing enterprises, the herdsman, the cooperatives and the livestock products processing enterprises, and had empirical analyses on the relationships between the composition subjects of the grassland animal husbandry chain and the herdsmen income, also gave the results of the analysis and resolution.Based on the construction of grassland animal husbandry industry chain, it has given the suggestions on improving the herdsmen income in this paper. Accelerate the speed of the construction of the composition subjects of the chain and strengthen the organization and management of the chain itself. By strengthening both the construction and management, it will vigorously promote the development of the grassland animal husbandry industry chain in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, so as to achieve the purpose of promoting herdsmen income.
