A Case Study Of Tourism Planning To Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture

Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (hereinafter referred to as Gannan) is located in the southwest of Gansu province. Its economy development is laggard and local people's income is low. Since Gannan is watershed area of Yellow River and Yangtze River, its deteriorated ecological environment resulted from the poverty will affect both living and producing of several hundred million people who live in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River and Yellow River. How to eliminate the poverty and improve the living of the local people has been an open problem for local government and researchers. Tourism is a new one in eliminating poverty. Gannan has various and abundant tourism resources. Using the unique natural resources and the rich and colorful culture resources, tourism can be preferentially developed. This is very important in eliminating poverty, protecting environment, developing economy, keeping stable and prompting social progress. Therefore, the question is how to scientifically plan the tourism resources of Gannan when facing the special ethnic culture, the important ecological position, and the low economy level.In this paper, a solid case study of planning tourism for Gannan was thoroughly performed through connecting empirical research and theoretical analysis, combining quantitative and qualitative method, and joining innovation with learning.Tourism resources of Gannan were thoroughly investigated and classified. A factor system and mathematical model were constructed, and the whole resources were assessed, which provides a solid proof for developing tourism resources in Gannan. Moreover, analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and principal component analysis (PCA) were used to evaluate 13 important tourist destinations of Gannan, pointing out the future direction of Gannan tourism planning.Considering the present state of society and economy, and ecology environment, the paper explained the importance and necessary of sustainable tourism (ecotourism) for Gannan. As a case study, environmental carrying capacity of ecotourism (ECCE) in Maqu is analyzed with a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model. This provides a theoretical support and a decision reference for Gannan sustainable tourism.Based on the analysis for Gannan tourism resources and CIS theory and method, the image of Gannan tourism is redirected, and logo and slogan are designed. The new image eliminates the previous shielding image, which will promote the Gannan tourism to a higher level.With the mode of information technique in tourism, a new frame is designed for constructing informatization for Gannan. The frame integrates e-tourism administration, e-tourism commence and services for the traveler as a system, and stresses the service for travelers. The system allows that human-destination and human-human perceptions system are achieved at a warm interface.
