According to statistics, transportation energy consuming water railway, highway, ratio of1/2/10, rate ratio is1/2/6, water discharge is highway, railway1/151/1.2, more and more attention in the modern transportation of energy saving and environmental protection, especially plays a more and more important role in bulk, long-distance transport of goods, but its relative merits, the shortcomings are obvious, such as by natural conditions of large, slow speed, it is difficult to realize door-to-door transportation.Anhui water is rich in resources, the territory has more than300size river. The province’s inland waterway traffic mileage of5596kilometers, ranking the eighth in the country, in which the high grade waterway mileage of1084km. The province’s existing16ports, including Wuhu, Ma’anshan, Anqing, Hefei, Bengbu five port for Traffic Department identified as the first batch of the country’s28major inland port; Anqing, Chizhou, Tongling, Wuhu, Ma’anshan as a national class open port. Have all kinds of berth of1352tons of production, the level and above,389berths, the use of the shoreline of75000meters, the port throughput capacity of3.9tons.
