With the globalization of economy, the socio-economic environment has undergone profound changes. Domestic enterprises are facing competition around the world since China’s accession to WTO. The international community has become increasing emphasis on corporate social responsibility, and western countries are more mature, in fulfilling and certificating social responsibility. While China is still in its infancy, legal system is imperfect, and enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises are lack of social responsibility, accordingly, competitiveness of Chinese enterprises are weakened in international market. Labor disputes, food safety and environmental pollution accidents occur frequently and corporate social responsibility is increasingly valued by domestic consumers, which requires enterprises to fulfill social responsibility.Through the study on status of corporate social responsibility, research is proposed, firstly, defines social responsibility of small and medium enterprises, systematizes related theory, secondly, expounds the benefits, motives, principles and content of fulfilling corporate social responsibility, finally, analyzes the problems existed in fulfilling corporate social responsibility of our small and medium enterprises, and gives proposals to promote corporate social responsibility.
