Congsulting is more and more important in the future.IT consulting also has become the most important partment in information industry. In current academe, there is not enough attention to’consulting engineering’. This paper uses apractical consulting project to do a discourse on this subject.In this paper, the definition of IT consulting,combined with the entire IT industry macro environment and the specific circumstances of a Chemical Group analysis, as well as the development of the IT consulting industry encountered problems, difficulties and opportunities. A Chemical Group IT infrastructure research, analysis, design, summed up for the IT industry consulting, consulting a detailed analysis of the IT industry, with a strong reference and guiding significance for the future development of the consulting industry.From a project management perspective this article also analyzes IT consulting projects for communicating project progress control, project management, project quality management, project risk management and project change management. IT infrastructure projects through a chemical industry group practice to get IT consulting project management experience. After this project similar to IT consulting project management has a strong reference.Through the practice of a chemical group’s IT infrastructure project, summarizes the IT consulting projects for customers direct, indirect and social benefits, this explains IT consulting can bring value to our customers, as well as the significance of this research.This article summarizes the characteristics of a chemical group IT infrastructure consulting project, analyses the prospects of IT consulting companies in the country, its advantages and challenges. Prospect IT consulting industry’s future prospects and research directions, from the development of IT infrastructure of enterprise business applications and the impact of normative aspects are discussed in the IT consulting industry.
