Management Consulting Project The Owner Project Management Framework Model Of Research And Applications

With the increasing need of improving management level of companies and the growth of management consulting companies, management consulting industry has developed rapidly in recent years. However, at the same time, many management consulting projects end with failure. Researching the cause, the lack of knowledge by owner about how to understand and implement management consulting project is an important cause.In order to help owner to carry out management consulting project successfully, this paper firstly analyzes the management consulting procedure and its important issues which owner needs to know. Secondly, through analyzing the three major theories which include project management system/model, project success theory and important issues, this paper identifies the tasks which owner needs to take and the important issues which owners need to handle. Then, an owner project management frame model based on major theories of project management is constructed. Thirdly, this paper constructs an owner project management frame model of management consulting project by integrating the two research results above. Finally, this paper makes a research on the application of the frame model through a performance management consulting management project. In this part, the particular tasks which owner needs to take in this project are identified, an evaluation index system of consulting plan is constructed, and an example of evaluation of two consulting plan using AHP is provided.
