With the increasingly serious environmental problems, energy conservation andemissions reduction is causing more and more attention of the society from all walks of life.For heavy industry enterprises, energy saving and emission reduction is an important taskduring their transformation process, and is even related to their survival. Thus, it has a veryimportant practical significance to study on energy saving and emission reduction.Due to understanding the importance and urgency of energy saving and emissionreduction, the author raised it to the level of an important development strategy of enterprises,and set Qinye Heavy Industry Co. Ltd.,(QINYE for short)for an example, to explore its pathto realize it from the point of strategy management. This paper aimed to start with QINYE’sreal environment, using the ideas and methods of strategy management theory, to explore itsforward path under the framework of energy saving and emission reduction. Taking this as awhole object, research contents were divided as follows: firstly, analyze QINYE’senvironment and conditions respectively from macrocosmic, medium and microcosmic levels,to make clear its opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses; secondly, use SWOT matrixfor strategic matching to develop energy saving and emission reduction strategies; then, EFEand IFE should be used to evaluate the enterprise’s internal conditions and externalenvironment, on basis of which strategies be assessed by the use of QSPM and The mostsuitable one be picked out, as well as that solutions and measures to implement the strategy beput forward.The author made plenty of literature retrieval and comprehensive investigation tocombine theory with practice. The primary research method was both qualitative andquantitative. Applications of qualitative method include the analysis of QINYE’s environmentand conditions, the summary of key factors affecting its energy saving and emission reductionstrategy, the strategy matching and alternatives-construction with SWOT matrix based on theabove. In aspect of quantitative analysis, this paper used Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP)to determine weights of key factors, constructed EFE matrix and IFE matrix, and evaluatedeach strategy alternative with QSPM,thus chose the best solution according to the evaluationresults. This paper introduced the mature theory of strategy management and scientific research method, not only looked at the enterprise’s macrocosmic environment and industryenvironment, but also from its own conditions and development, in order to formulate astrategy that may help the enterprise acquire good environmental, social and economicbenefits in future. It explored specific practice for the enterprise’s strategy transformation. Byresearching on the topic, the author deeply recognized the truth that green development is aninexorable trend for China’s metallurgical equipment manufacturing industry, even for allmanufacturing industries, while product development and technology innovation are key toimplement energy saving and emission reduction strategy for them. The author hopes tosummarize an approach follow which enterprises could scientifically and systematicallyformulate and implement their energy saving and emission reduction strategies through theresearch to this thesis, it would guide their practice in energy saving and emission reductionefforts, thus promote their strategy transformation and green process.
