Application Research On Value Stream Mapping In Production Management

Under the background of economic globalization, the manufacturing industry is facing not only opportunities for rapid development, but also more intense competition. For manufacturing industry, the production cycle is both an index measure of the enterprise management level and a reflection of the enterprises competitiveness. Lean production method is an advanced production management theory. The core content of it is to reduce the waste and cost, to improve the efficiency, to shorten the production cycle and then to respond as quickly to market needs. As a tool to achieve the lean production, value stream mapping can recognize waste and help managers to master material and information flow in the process, to analysis the reason of waste, it has the scientific significance and practical value, to achieve the lean production target and to improve the enterprise competence.Based on study of the theories, this thesis analysis the needs of BCDL Locomotive Company in the production management. Aiming at the production process, the methods of value stream mapping and Kanban management are studied here. Through the application of value stream mapping and lean production methods, which contribute to reduce WIP inventory and waiting time. Therefore, the production cycle and production efficiency can be improved to a certain extent.First, this thesis have an in-depth study of lean production, value stream mapping and Kanban management theory. Under the guidance of theory, through the research of present situation for BCDL Locomotive Company production management, the urgent need of the value stream mapping and Kanban management for lean production goals is analyzed here.Then, take the main bearing cap production of BCDL locomotive company as an example, collecting and sorting the data of logistics and information flow of the current process, this thesis establishes the current value stream map. Based on the analysis, the improvement including introduction of Kanban management system is conducted and the future value stream map is designed. With the compared analyzation between them, this thesis obtains the efficiency of improvement.At last, this thesis have a detailed analysis to the establishment and implementation for Kanban management in the improvement scheme, design the pull production management process and production management kanban for the workshop. And to achieve the interaction of the Kanban information and other information system, the workshop Kanban management system is designed.The research of this thesis provides a method for the enterprise, to improve production efficiency, to reduce waste, to shorten the production cycle, then to realize JIT, transparent and real-time transformation of the production process. It also has a guidance significance and reference for other companies, to realize the lean production in a certain degree.
