With the accelerated pace of urban development, urban population density is more and more intensive, economic exchanges are very active and people’s exchange becomes more and more frequent, the traffic problems occurs accordingly. To promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure, accelerate the transformation of economic development, major cities began to build high-speed channel to reduce traffic pressure, promote the flow of talent between. In order to accelerate the modernization process of the city of Guangzhou to meet the Asian Games held in the city, business forums, international and domestic cultural activities, gathering of well-known merchants demand, therefore, through the construction of the Pearl River Delta intercity rail (Guangzhou-Foshan line) by Guangdong Provincial, to improve domestic intercity railway technical standard system and operational management. In the construction of the project, there were many problems, we expand the analysis and investigation on the status of the project schedule management.By use of theory and method of project management and project schedule management, we make investigation on the GFL project schedule management improvement. Firstly, defines the issue which need to study, the relevant domestic and international project schedule management research theory is summarized; Secondly, introduces GFL project background, project organization structure and project progress status, using the survey method, interview method to survey GFL project members, have a detailed analysis for the existing problems of the project schedule management, and the causes of the problem; Thirdly, from Siemens mature project management ideas, tools and methods, states the improving schedule management plan for GFL project, and have a comprehensive optimization process from the main content of GFL project schedule management, WBS breakdown, the progress of the project planning, project milestone setting and project schedule control methods; Finally, expounds the project assurance measures in organization, technology, institution after the GFL optimization, and new problems, solutions and the expected effect after the improvement.Through the optimization of GFL project schedule management, The rolling stock products have been optimized, which from design, procurement, manufacturing, quality control and so on. Especially the project cost, process, and quality is relatively uniform, to provide users with cost-effective products, companies cost has an effectively control, product quality is stable, reliability is relatively high, get the recognition of users.
