A Study On Evolution And Mechanism Of City Logistics Space In Shanghai

Logistics, as the third source of profits, is modern city emerging industry, animpact on the economic efficiency and comprehensive competitiveness in the city.With the transition of economic development pattern and adjustment of urban spatialstructure, the development of industry agglomeration becomes an inexorable trend.The contour of industrial space about logistics becomes more obvious, which consistsof logistics enterprise and logistics node. The essay attempts to study spatialdistribution features evolution rules and driving mechanism of logistics from an angleof spatial and regional characteristics. On the one hand, the research enriches thegeographic content of modern logistics and promotes the development of disciplinaryintegration. On the other hand, the study has implications for the layout of logistics’planning. At the same time, there is an important significance that the research on therules of logistics space helps less developed areas to develop logistics in future.This paper comprises theoretical studies and empirical analysis. In theoriesanalysis, in this paper, on the basis of previous studies, the urban logistics spaceconcept is redefined. Urban logistic space is redefined as a type of new industrialspace and spatial agglomeration of numerable logistic enterprises, logisticsinfrastructure and logistics activity by their composition, a phenomenon caused by therapid development of logistics in the context of economic globalization. The elementsof urban logistics space including logistics enterprises and logistics infrastructure,logistics nodes.In empirical analysis, this paper mainly research on two aspects of logisticsenterprises and logistics node facilities. By establishing the spatial attribute database dof logistics enterprises, explores the space distribution features and evolution process.Within the city areas, logistics enterprises mainly distributed in urban center district,logistics park and logistics base, each county economic center area, thesuburbanization trend of enterprises is obvious and the hot zone transfers from centralcity areas and suburban areas to exurban areas. The space layout of different functions,different properties and different sizes of logistics enterprises are significantlydifferent. Transportation enterprises, Freight forwards&logistics informationenterprises, joint ventures logistics enterprises, foreign logistics enterprises and largelogistics have an advantage over logistics enterprises in the central city. Among them,there is an obvious trend that freight forwards&logistics information enterprises andforeign logistics enterprises agglomerate in the center. New logistics nodes mainly located in the suburbs and the movement on spatial layout of the original nodes laysapparently. The driving mechanism of logistics spatial evolution in Shanghai includesnatural history conditions, spatial layout in the initial state, the change of locationalconditions, accelerating the evolution of logistics’ spatial layout, promoting theoptimization of logistics’ space in the background of international macro-economy,normalize logistics’ spatial layout on the basis of policy and planning. The drivingmechanism brings the spatial effect mainly reflected in urban spatial structure,industrial space and the urban environment.
