An Empirical Study On The Sustainable Development Ability Of Specialized Farmers Cooperatives

Since reform and opening-up, with the acceleration of global economic integration,great changes have taken place in China’s agricultural cooperatives, which contains reformof agricultural itself, changes in structure of each node organization of agriculturalproducts supply chain and their relationship, and even household itself had been changed.Therefore, China’s agricultural cooperatives must participate in the reform anddevelopment trend on foreign agricultural cooperatives and mechanism, continue toimprove and adjust management idea and operational mechanism to ensure sustainabledevelopment.In this paper, according to the statistics of Henan’s13farmer specialized cooperatives,the author evaluates and analyses the sustainable development capacity of farmerspecialized cooperatives from material resources, human resources and organizationalresources on the view of construction of index system of farmer specialized cooperatives.The results show that some issues such as the current backward management thoughts offarmer specialized cooperatives, lacking awareness of service, weak economic strength andlacking leading enterprises are existing.There are three factors which lead to unsustainabledevelopment of farmer specialized cooperatives. First, from the perspective ofgovernment’s support, the government does not play positive role of guidance, support andsupervision. The government should provide public goods which market can’t provide andsolve common problems related to the development of cooperatives which market can’tsolve. Second, according to the influence of leading enterprises on local cooperatives, theleading enterprises and other cooperative organizations don’t combine closely. Both sidesof them don’t share benefits and take responsibility for risks, resulting in instability ofagricultural specialization chain. Finally, from the vision in farmer specialized cooperatives,incomplete management mechanism and poor supervision mechanism hinder farmerspecialized cooperatives’ sustainable development.This paper is divided into five chapters: the first part is introduction, aiming atprofessional farmers cooperatives introduced the importance and the development of thestatus quo at home and abroad and the research methods. And then introduces some theory knowledge for follow-up study. The third chapter mainly study how to evaluate thedevelopment of farmer specialized cooperatives in sustainable.Discusses the importanceand the evaluation of sustainable development and the general considerations and thecorresponding evaluation method and the reasons.Analysis by AHP software analysis, thevarious factors have influence on sustainable development of farmers’ cooperatives in size.Then the chapter is the specialized farmers’ cooperatives in Henan Province as a case tostudy the sustainable development assessment. In this chapter, based on the research ofHenan province a total of13farmer cooperatives, to understand the development situationand existing problems. Finally, the evaluation method of sustainable development putforward in the third chapter, the application of sustainable development evaluation inDengfeng City.Feng new farming cooperatives to verify the feasibility of modifiedevaluation system. The fifth chapter in our country at present professional farmerscooperatives how can sustainable development put forward some suggestions andopinions.
