Logisticsis the industry known as “the third profit sourceâ€,“the largest industry in the21stcentury†by the media,“the golden rice bowl†by the people. The development oflogistics industry is expected to be become important industrial sectors of China’seconomic development, can be an excellent way to promote better and fasterdevelopment of the national economy. With the revitalization of logistics, a variety ofdistribution centers come into being. Distribution center that emerges as the keyconnected node of upstream and downstream in the supply chain, with the wholeaspect and versatile forms of modern logistics, has great vitality. Distribution center isthe aggregate of product storage, sorting, concentration, picking and other centralizedoperations. The effective management about distribution center can improve theoverall operational efficiency, reduce logistics costs and provide a higher quality oflogistics services, thus increasing the competitiveness of enterprises.This paper mainly conducts the related research about electronic productsdistribution center, by using a combination of theoretical knowledge and case study.In theory, the main study involves the definition and types of distribution center, thecharacteristics and distribution patterns of electronic products logistics, operationalperformance indicators and methods about electronic products distribution center.Combined with the characteristics of electronic products, its logistics services havethe particularity. This paper establishes a critical operational capability evaluation bythe Balanced Scorecard approach, then by using AHP and fuzzy comprehensiveevaluation method to build operational capability evaluation system model aboutelectronic products distribution center. In the case study, a specific case on Chengdudistribution center of Hua-Pengfei Logistics, verifies the effectiveness and operabilityof operational capability evaluation model about electronic products distribution center. The research methods and conclusions have a good reference and inspirationon the development of our small and medium sized logistics enterprises. This paperexpands the studies from the six following specific aspects.1. Literature review and theoretical basis. This section describes the differentdefinitions of the distribution center, the types according to different classificationcriteria and their characteristic. And this section has a detailed analysis on the study ofoperational capability indicators and methods abroad about distribution center.Through the literature and theory review, the theory has been supported by the mainpoint of this study.2. Fundamental analysis about electronic products logistics. Due to the electronicproducts characteristics itself, its logistics has notable features: small volume, high-frequency, time-sensitive, high value. Its logistics services require high degree ofinformation, good security, timeliness of arrival, and so on. Electronics manufacturersare using the main distribution models currently including self-distribution model,common distribution model, interoperability distribution model, the third-partydistribution model.3. Operations analysis about electronic products distribution center. This articleelaborates from six major aspects. Its processes contain the electronic product receiptmanagement, product storage management, product selection products, productshipment management, product inventory management, product storage safety andenvironment management. This chapter analyzes the specific operating procedurescontained in each process, and operating requirements in each link.4. Select operational capacity indicators of electronic products distribution center.This chapter introduces the definition of evaluation index, the principle of selectingindicators which is systematic, scientific, operational and feasibility. And selection ofkey performance indicators meets the SMART principle. The indicators are chosenprimarily through the Balanced Score Card method. Then it introduces the feasibilityand necessity to usage of the Balanced Score Card in distribution center. From theinternal processes, financial, customer satisfaction, learning and growth, the passagechooses fifteen representative key evaluation indexes. Indicators involved are: theability to delivery accurately, goods timely delivery rates, cargo intact delivery rates,transportation cost control, distribution information tracking capabilities, ROE (Rateof Return on Common Stockholders Equity), inventory turnover capacity, the signingreturn rate, customer retention rate, customer complaints rate, market reputation, market growth rate, the success rate of new customer development, employeeretention rate, employee growth rate.5. The construction of operational capability evaluation index system modelabout electronic products distribution center and case analysis. This index systemmodel is constructed by AHP and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The model isdivided into goals, guidelines, and programs at three levels. And the guidelinesinclude four indicators from the balanced score card approach; programs include thefifteen key subdivision indicators. This chapter introduces the operational processdetails of the AHP and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, and the calculationmethod in each process. Based on this model, it expands the empirical analysis by thecase Chengdu distribution center in Hua-Pengfei Logistics. From this, you can clearlysee the model data for all indicators, and the results of the model consistency tests.Model can provide a theoretical basis for the follow-up study. The index data canprovide reference and inspiration to the development of small and medium enterprisesin logistics.6. The main conclusions, suggestions and prospects. This chapter summarizesthe full text contents and results, then analyzes the shortcomings of this passage andthe problem to be solved in the follow-up study.The research about electronic products distribution center will be morecomprehensive in future. The distribution center planning and site selection,information technology, process standardization will become the focus in the study.Furthermore the research methods for electronic products distribution centeroperational capability evaluation will be more diverse and smart. |
