Research On Risk Identification And Management Of S Company EPC Project In Oversea Market

Economic globalization creates opportunities for Chinese companies to develop oversea market. Nowadays more and more Chinese companies are entering the oversea market, but there are big challenges for Chinese company to contract oversea EPC projects, e.g. there are many uncertainties for oversea project which may lead to some risks, and Chinese companies have very weak project risk management. In order to prevent risks and get profit, it is necessary to carry out risk management for oversea project.This paper combines the basic principle of project management study and the speciality of oversea EPC project, and the oversea EPC project risk management of S company is taken as an example. Firstly, it takes out the commonness of oversea project risks, creates a risk management frame which can be used for all kinds of projects and describes the main contents of oversea project risk management. Secondly, under the basis of theory analysis, it carries out deep research on the oversea EPC project of S company, and India JSW Company raw material handling system EPC project is taken as an example. Finally, it describes the risk management process of India JSW Company raw material handling system EPC project. This paper puts importance on the risk identification, risk evaluation&analysis and risk handling measures. The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly, oversea EPC project is a risky business. The risks of Chinese engineering companies on oversea project are increasing. The risk management of oversea EPC project is tightly related with the project success and company existence. Secondly, risk identification and assessment is the basis of oversea EPC project risk management. With the scientific risk identification methods and tools, the risks can be evaluated scientifically. Finally the risk handling strategy is the core of project risk management. Efficient risk handling measures are established under the basis of scientific risk identification and evaluation analysis. The risk handling strategy shall be established according to the characters of each project generally. Scientific handling measures shall be established to prevent and handle the risks positively.
