In the era of economic globalization, Companies from all walks of life are facing unprecedented fierce competition. How a company remains invincible and keeps growing up in such macro environment of the fierce competition? It’s vital for the survival and development of an organization to build an objective, fair, scientific system of performance appraisal and incentive, which concerns setting and achieving the performance objectives of employees; concerns setting and achieving the performance targets of all layers of organizations; concerns whether the directions of all layers of organizations as well as employees hard working for is cater to the direction of strategic objective of company or not; finally concerns whether the strategic objective of company can be achieved or not.Taking ABC Company as a research objective, after objective analysis on the problems of performance appraisal and incentive system of ABC Company and the features of the industry of ABC Company, this dissertation proposed to build a multiple layers of performance appraisal and incentive system under the guidance of the related theories of performance appraisal and incentive. The dissertation first introduced the background, method, technical means of the research, meanwhile, discussed the goal and the importance of the research. Second, in literature summary, reviewed and sorted out the relevant theories of performance appraisal and incentive, Comments were made on all these theories. Third, the dissertation introduced the current situation of performance appraisal and incentive of ABC Company, afterwards, pointed out the main problems like performance appraisal lying in the form, responsibilities and duties of positions not clear, performance not linking to wages as well as employees short of morale, lacking material and mental incentive methods and etc are currently existed in the ABC Company. Fourth, the theoretical models were provided for building the multiple layers of performance appraisal and incentive system for ABC Company. Last, some advices were given on how to build the performance appraisal and incentive system, meanwhile aiming to the possible barriers to be encountered during the period of implementing the new system in the Company, the dissertation provides the corresponding tactics to deal with it.
