Due to the increasingly fierce global competition, more and more enterprises begin to adopt the project management mode, in response to rapidly changing internal and external environment. At the same time, the advent of the era of knowledge economy makes enterprise managers realize the importance of the knowledge as a production factor. Especially for project-based enterprises, the knowledge is not only an important resource to carry out the project task activity and achieve goals, but the knowledge updated and accumulated through projects is important way of enterprises to form and maintain the core competitiveness. Knowledge, however, as the perception product of human to the objective phenomenon, often held by individuals, belong to employees’ personal assets. Though the knowledge existing in the individual level may be applied by the enterprise through contracts, etc, the strength of controlling it is limited, and it is difficult to guarantee the best of the value of personal knowledge. Therefore, organization of personal knowledge has become the new problem which draws the attentions of the enterprise managers and related scholars in knowledge management.Based on the review of the literature, this study built a framework for analysis, and by trying to trace path of organization of personal knowledge through typical case, revealed the process and mechanism of knowledge transformation between different entities in different paths. This study adopted the method of qualitative analysis, and took the Dalian JCWY network media co., LTD as the research object to carry out exploratory case study. Through in-depth interviews and other ways to get rich data, and then guided by the theory, through qualitative case analysis, inquiry the process of organization of personal knowledge in Project-based Enterprises, and get the following conclusions:(1) the knowledge specialization of the same kind of entities is basis of team and organization of knowledge;(2) the path of organization of personal knowledge is affected by three factors including knowledge source, explicit and tacit of knowledge and the value of knowledge for organization;(3) resource allocation and knowledge share based on project knowledge requires or organization strategy demands are the important way of knowledge transfer;(4) the communication, comparison, judgement and verification in the process of knowledge transformation in different paths implement the knowledge fusion of entities;(5) the consensus of knowledge entities is the key of knowledge transformation across levels;(6) the solidification of knowledge strengthens the management and control force of upper level entity on knowledge;(7) the time points of knowledge transformation in different paths are different;(8) knowledge management and support from organizational level have important promotion effect on organization of personal knowledge.The innovations of this study include distinguishing the different levels of knowledge from the perspective of the degree of controlling organization has on knowledge, clearly defining the boundary of morphological transformation of knowledge, and revealing the internal mechanism of knowledge transformation through the analysis of the changes of the knowledge form. This study further enriched the existing theory of organization of personal knowledge, and, at the same time, can help enterprise managers learn the transformation process of the personal knowledge to organizational knowledge from the organization’s overall, and then take more targeted knowledge management measures.
