Research On Resource Carrying Capacity And Ecological Footprint Of Huludao City

Huludao coastal economic belt of Liaoning Province is an important part of the "five point one line". At the same time, the Huludao City is located in the low mountain hilly area of Liaoning Province. It belongs to "western liaoning area" and "nearshore and island area". So, it has important ecological functions. Petrochemical industry, non-ferrous metallurgy, machinery, shipbuilding, energy power are four big pillar industries in Huludao City. Oil processing, coking, nuclear fuel processing, transportation equipment manufacturing, non-metallic minerals are emphasis on the development and chemical raw materials manufacturing. Its special industrial structure determines the huludao city high energy resources consumption and high pollutant emissions. Thus, the environmental and ecological quality is not optimistic.Resources carrying capacity is the population can continue to support relying on local natural resources, while ensuring consistent with his social cultural standards under the material life level in a certain period of time. The ecological footprint is a measure for the sustainable development of quantitative method. Therefore, This article will focus on the studies of huludao city resources carrying capacity and ecological footprint, in order to evaluate huludao city development layout and the coordination of environmental protection target. Combined with the specific circumstances of huludao, This paper put forward reasonable suggestions to optimize the industrial structure and layout, improve the ecological carrying capacity of the region.At first, the basic process of two kinds of evaluation methods and algorithms is introduced from the concept and their development of resource bearing capacity and ecological footprintthe theory.Secondly, according to the characteristics of geographical environment, economic positioning, industrial structure and characteristics of huludao city, the regional environmental quality status, supply and demand situation of water and land resources has been investigated in detail. The development trend of the regional environmental quality was analyzed and relative to the national and Liaoning province, the relative resources carrying capacity in Huludao city was accounted. On this basis, the main restrictive factors are analyzed. At the same time, the ecological footprint of huludao city was calculated. The paper from the composition of the ecological footprint and compared with other cities in Liaoning province’s regional point of view, analyses the main cause of the ecological footprint deficit.Finally, combined with the main contradiction reflected by the resources carrying capacity and ecological footprint analysis, the targeted environmental protection countermeasures and suggestions is put forward from improving the supply of water and land resources, reducing the ecological footprint demand of key industries.
