| The first web game in the world was "Ultima Online" which was created in the USA in1997, while China began our web game journey lately in July,2000. With the rapid development in ten years, Chinese web game had already become the top one in the world’s web games’market for2years.Up to2012, the market scale had reached8.11billion RMB with more than7.5million users thanks to the rapidly expanded market that came from Chinese creative web game with the easy operation and simple rules in the game business model innovation period from2006to2008. However, with the fast boom of Chinese web game, Game development was faced with various challenges such as product homogeneity, short life period due to excessive marketing by the media, high pressure for product design, high turnover of designers and so on, which mean that the company should enhance the management for its R&D team.This paper takes R&D in AY Company as the research objective and background. Firstly, this paper presents the situation of AY’s R&D team and spots the problems and reasons of the performance evaluation found by questionnaire research at the advantage of the speculative knowledge of performance management. Secondly, on the basis of full understanding of the theories and the current situation, this paper objectively raised the thinking of team performance evaluation of AY Company and designed a series of different performance index and standards of all technical employees. Last, this paper also designed the implementation of security measures of performance appraisal scheme of game development team to ensure the excellent execution.This paper introduces a new R&D team performance evaluation system which is able to improve the quality of products effectively through optimized performance evaluation, and then to develop the management system of the whole company. At the same time, this paper could also provide references for performance evaluation in the whole game industry. |
