Scholars has focused on industrial agglomeration and urbanization for a longhistory. Western scholars started to theoretical analysis and empirical research aboutthe industrial agglomeration rom Marshall, and after many years of research of Weber,Krugman, they thought that the connotation of industrial agglomeration refers to thesame type or different types of relevant enterprises clustering to a certain geographicalconcentration and polymerization. Industrial agglomeration can reduce the enterprises’cost and improve production efficiency, which contribute to promoting the cause ofthe economic development. What’s more, industrial agglomeration is also the result. With the development of economy, urbanization is the trend of human society.Population factor in high concentration is the essence of urbanization of the space, inorder to improve the level of urbanization, our country has put the urbanization intostrategic height, and this behavior proves the importance of urbanization.Since the reform and opening, our county’s development of industrialagglomeration and urbanization has made significant achievements, obviously thereare interaction mechanism between them. The correlation between them not onlyexpounds theoretically, but also there are necessity to carry on the empirical analysisto fully show the correlation between them. Through the research conclusion, putforward policy suggestions to promote the fine interactive development betweenindustry agglomeration and urbanization. This paper is divided into five parts to expound:The first part expounds related concepts. This part show the theories andliterature review, and explains the concept of industrial agglomeration andurbanization, the theory of industrial agglomeration and urbanization, and the relatedliterature review. The second part analyzes the interaction mechanism between industrial agglomeration and urbanization. This part expounds the industrial agglomerationmechanism of urbanization, and the impact on the industrial agglomerationmechanism of urbanization in theory. Industrial agglomeration is the prerequisite andfoundation of urbanization, and help to reduce the cost of urbanization, contribute tooptimize the pattern of the city and improve its competitiveness. Urbanizationprovides the necessary material conditions the and system guarantee for industrialagglomeration, and promote industrial concentration to the higher level. The third part explains the measure methods and data sources. This paper use themulti-factor comprehensive evaluation method to measure industrial agglomeration.I constructed a evaluation system that contains four secondary factor and10primary factor comprehensive index, with reference to previous research giving eachfactor weight, to weight industrial agglomeration level. Using a single populationurbanization indicator measures the urbanization rate. The fourth part makes an empirical analysis of the correlation between industrialagglomeration and urbanization. Then this part analyzed the correlation between theindustrial agglomeration factor and urbanization rate factor. Through the level ofprovince and four major economic regions this part concluded that no matter whichlevel there is a certain degree of correlation between the two.The fifth part is mainly to summarize and take suggestions that could be putforward according to the problems in the process of analysis. This paper firstsummarizes the empirical analysis conclusion. There is a certain degree of connectionbetween the two the same to the factors between them. Regarding to the shortcomingsof the found in the summary, this paper puts forward some feasible suggestionsmainly from the development, the industrial cluster characteristic, construction ofinnovation system, auxiliary industry cultivation and government institutionalenvironment, and so on.
