Low carbon economic development depend on the "low energy consumption, low pollution, low emission" mode of development, in purpose of protecting the environment and achieving the developing of economy,therefore,in order to promote the construction of the "two type society" in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtang urban cluster, the low-carbon land use patterns should be advocated. The formula of carbon emissions, carbon absorbability and the ENVI software had been used to quantitatively analyzed the carbon emissions, carbon absorbability, net emissions of carbon and the intensity of heat island of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtang urban cluster. Based on the analysis results and master planning for ecological green center area of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtang urban cluster, Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtang urban cluster had been partitioned into several compositive carbon functional zones. At last, the suitable low-carbon land use patterns in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtang urban cluster had been explored under the view of reducing the carbon source and increasing the carbon sequestration. The conclusions can be drawn as follows:The current carbon emissions of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtang urban cluster showed an increasing trend.The urban heat island effect trend of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtang urban cluster was reinforced from2007to2012.And the area of urban heat island roughly coincide with the carbon emission region in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtang urban cluster. The area where urban heat island effect is stronger, the greater it’s carbon emissions, and vice versa.Under the view of reducing the carbon source and increasing the carbon sequestration, the zones of main carbon source, important carbon sink and carbon neutral have been constructed.At the same time, four corresponding low-carbon land-use patterns are proposed.They are the ecological cycle type of low-carbon land-use pattern, the intensive energy saving type of low-carbon land-use pattern, the green heart conservation type of carbon-sequestration land-ues pattern and the forest carbon sink type of carbon-sequestration land-ues pattern.The measures of low-carbon land use should be taken under the view of local conditions in practice, and the goal should be achieved gradually.
