China is the world’s most populous country, with population over than 1.3 billion. Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world, the population is about 237 million by the end of 2014. Although there are many differences between China and Indonesia(for example, social, political and economic systems, the natural environment, as well as their culture and tradition), there are also many similarities. Both are large developing countries, the arduous task of maintaining national food security, grain market system construction two countries not only for their own problems, but also on the world grain market is extremely important. If China and Indonesia make full and effective utilize their resources to solve the problem of food security is a major contribution to world food security. Many researchers in China and Indonesia, national food security, showed great interest. However, scholars in these two countries, a comparative study of the food problem is relatively small achievements, the paper expects food system through a comparative study of the construction of the two markets, especially China’s grain market system construction of lessons learned, the more Indonesian construction improve the grain market system and the development of national food security policy for reference.The paper referring the relevant research results in domestic and foreign researchers. Firstly, define the grain market architecture and related concepts. Secondly, analyze the impact of current state and achievement of food market system in China and the status and problems of grain market system in Indonesia; Thirdly, comparative analysis the grain market policy, distribution channels, price levels, control measures and policies taken by the beneficiaries in food production of China and Indonesia. On the basis of referring food market security policy experience in China, proposing strategies and measures for construct Indonesia grain market system.
