Research On Impact Of Harbin-dalian High-speed Railway On Liaoning Economic Development

High-speed railway is the revolutionary conveyance of transportation industry, whose construction and operation will not only improve the structure of transportation, relieve the stress of transport of both travelers and goods, shorten the travel time among regions, but also have a deep influence on the economic development of areas along the high-speed rail and it will bring great economic benefit to those areas. The first commercial services of Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway began operating in December 1, 2012. The railway, as an important part of the Beijing –Harbin high-speed railway line--one of China “four horizontal and four vertical tracks” from Mid and Long-term Railway Network Plan, is 921 kilometers long, in which the rail between Shenyang and Dalian covers 375 kilometers with seven stops. The opening and operation of the railway will formulate a traffic and economic belt between the region of Shenyang and Dalian and promote the economic development of these regions.This paper systematically classifies and analyzes the overseas and domestic relevant theory and study status, and its aim is to expound the basic conception and technical and economic characteristics of high-speed railway. From the point of view of the rail transport capacity and regional accessibility, analysis of the impact of high-speed rail on regional transportation. Then, based on the pulling effect of economic growth, the polarization effect of city, the development effect of city group and the driven effect of employment, analysis of the impact of high-speed railway on the regional economy along the line deeply. In the solid evidence part, at first, discussion Harbin-Dalian High-speed rail and economic situation in Liaoning, pointed out the influence factors of high-speed railway on the regional, By establishing grey model and trend extrapolation model, this paper predicts the passenger and freight volume and city GDP in the Shenyang and Dalian areas if there is no Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway in 2013. Thus, this paper can weigh the extent of change of railway transport capacity and urban economic relation intensity of these two conditions. What’s more, software Eviews 6.0 is used to predict the urban per capita GDP of big cities in the following years in order to calculate the travel time value brought by Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway. Research found that the railway improves the railway transport capacity of areas along, enhance the attractive of near cities, and to some extent, create the travel time value. In conclusion, the Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway infuses new strength in the economic development of the Liaoning areas.
