Supply and marketing cooperatives is in the field of circulation of agricultural cooperation economic organization, in the early years of new China, it is a bridge of communication between urban and rural goods exchange, is the main channel to the rural commodity circulation, it was in the service strategy and national industrialization played an important role in urban and rural economic and social development. With the market economy gradually established, the traditional management pattern suffered shock from market economy, the development of the supply and marketing cooperatives face many difficulties. The research object of this article is Gansu supply and marketing cooperatives(1949—1965), Supply and marketing cooperatives in Gansu province was based on the old club, and set up new club, on the basis of experience at the beginning of the building, development, frustration, and recovery phase. In general, this period the supply and marketing cooperatives in Gansu province played an important role for development of the urban and rural economy.Firstly, this article simply introduced the cooperation’s situation before the founding of new China, from two aspects, cooperation ideas spread and the cooperative movement in China, introduced the development of the national government period’s cooperation. Supply and marketing cooperatives is a kind of organizational form of cooperative, cooperation business before the founding of new China afford experience for the further development of cooperatives after the founding of new China. Secondly, on the basis of clarifying the development process of Gansu supply and marketing cooperatives, mainly investigated its management organizations, from three aspects, its organization and administrative management, capital structure and a detailed inspection personnel system. It can be seen that supply and marketing cooperatives as a kind of economic organization, management organization; administrative and commercial operating features were obvious. Finally, this article summarizes the supply and marketing cooperatives in rural economic development in the historic at the same time, points out the deficiency, and then points out its enlightenment to the reform of the supply and marketing cooperative.This article selects Gansu supply and marketing cooperatives as the research object, the reference on the basis of predecessors’ research results, combined with own collected documents, journals, archives and other data, through the early development of the research of supply and marketing cooperatives, hope to provide some useful reference for the reform of today’s supply and marketing.
