Research On Grain Trade Association In Shaoxing County

Grains is the basis of People’s livelihood and the foundation of the national prosperous. During the period of The Republic of China, a series of contradictions have occurred between the government and the Grain Trade Association, which is because of the Grain Business Tax. The paper mainly applies the files in Shaoxing County Archives to the study,which is still a secret to the public. And it is centered on Grain Trade Association of Shaoxing which requested the government to reduce or to remit Grain Business Tax in postwar as a central view in order to illustrated Grain Trade Association’s history status and the role in postwar and further explored Trade Association as a "Middleman" play game with the country.This article mainly includes the following three parts:The first chapter, Background. It mainly introduces the Grain business of Shaoxing county and the Grain Trade Association of Shaoxing. The second chapter, Grain Trade Association of Shaoxing which requested governments to reduce or to remit Grain Business Tax. The paper discussed the Grain Trade Association of Shaoxing that resisted the government about leaving Grain Business Tax. In order to achieved the purpose of the reduction of Grain Business Tax, Yan Xishang, the leader of the director, had insisted on the manners of requesting governments to reducing or remitting Grain Business Tax and was successfully got the goal in the end.The third chapter, the functions and status of Grain Trade Association of Shaoxing. The association has executed industry management, communication and maintain the market order and other functions, which has played a "intermediary" role between the government and enterprises, market and enterprises, enterprises and enterprises.In short, in this paper, by the way of collecting and textual research, the author found that Trade Association accomplished the change of modern system of organization in postwar. The Trade Association fought with the government, which suggested the strength of its status.
