| Economic growth not only includes its quantity, but also contains its quality, but in the study of economic growth of more than 200 years, the main concern is the quantity of economic growth, and the research emphasis more on the efficiency of the quality of economic growth. With the rapid growth of economy in recent years, has produced a series of social and ecological environment problems-- mineral resources’ exhausted, animal and plant resources’ endangered, the widening gap between the rich and the poor, "urban diseases" and so on. Faced with the grim situation of resource constraints, environmental pollution, and the tightening of ecosystem degradation, the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC proposed to vigorously promote ecological civilization construction, and put it in a prominent position. How to achieve higher efficiency and more "friendly" economic growth become the requirements for the future economic development.There are many researches on quality of national and provincial regional economic growth in domestic related literature, but the comparative study on the city economic growth quality is almost blank, and also need more research on the quality of economic growth’s temporal and spatial pattern from the geographical point of view. The prefecture level administrative unit is the foundation and spatial carrier of regional economic growth, to explore the quality of economic growth’s development trajectory and spatial-temporal pattern from the city unit can put forward more measures of regional development policy. In this paper, combining the economics basic theory and the geography spatial and temporal analysis, linking theory with practice, analyze the spatiotemporal pattern of economic growth in Henan province.This article defines the connotation of economic growth quality from social, economy and ecological environment view and 5 dimensions like economic growth, price stability, economic growth structure of science and technology innovation ability, welfare distribution and people’s life, resource utilization and ecological environment. High quality economic growth should have the following characteristics: stable and sustained economic growth, The reasonable coordination of consumption and investment structure, industrial structure, steady and rapid development of the city, the inexhaustible creative ability of science and technology, the national living standard and welfare’s improvement, education fair, society’s stable, effective and reasonable utilization of resources, ecological environment’s full protection etc..Combined with the Excel table analysis, spatial analysis of ArcGIS, GeoDa analysis and other methods, through the analysis of the weight of 25 basic indexes and five dimension for 18 cities from 2003 to 2013, comprehensive evaluation of the evolution of cities economic growth quality and spatial-temporal pattern analysis, we can obtain the following conclusions:(1) Through the analysis of the weight of 25 basic indexes and four dimension, the per capita educational funds, unit GDP energy consumption, per capita GDP, the income of urban and rural residents have greater weight. Attach importance to the education reflect the investment in science and technology innovation in the future, balanced economic growth achievement distribution is reflect the stability degree of social development. Welfare distribution and people’s life and resource utilization and ecological environment have greater weight. The ultimate purpose of economic growth is to improve people’s living level, welfare distribution and people’s life in this dimension can reflect the economic growth in quantity and the economic in quality improvement. Negative effects of economic growth caused largely reflected in resource utilization and cost of the ecological environment, the impact on the ecological environment in the process of economic growth damage is irreversible, it has also become an important factor restricting the improvement of economic growth quality.(2)The quality of economic growth in different cities of Henan Province during 2003-2013 were all to a certain extent, part of the cities(such as Hebi and Xuchang) have a greater fluctuation. According to the different degree of indicators to the quality of economic growth, we can divided the 18 cities into 5 types :economic growth structure promotion, ability of innovation of science and technology promotion, welfare distribution and people’s life promotion, resource use and the ecological environment promotion and mixed type. Type of welfare distribution and people’s life promotion occupy the most, followed by type of the science and technology innovation ability promotion and type resource utilization and cost of the ecological environment promotion.(3) The spatial difference characteristics of economic growth quality of Henan Province: The absolute difference of economic growth quality between regions fluctuated totally and has a little annual change except for individual years changed obviously; The relative difference of economic growth quality between regions gradually decreases; Global spatial autocorrelation is not obvious, basically shows a random distribution; the local spatial autocorrelation analysis shows that, there’s a weak driving effect between Henan province regions but the quality of economic growth gap reduces gradually.(4) Characteristics of the evolution of spatial pattern of the quality of economic growth in Henan province: All cities’ economic growth quality have increased, but the increase is not consistent; There are polarization phenomenon of regional economic growth quality and the polarization phenomenon shows increasing trend; Higher economic growth quality areas distribution in the northwest edge of Henan Province shaped with "厂", the quality of economic growth with lower area in Henan province edge contiguous distribution, lower economic growth quality and the polarization phenomenon shows increasing trend; Higher economic growth quality areas distribution contiguously in the edge of Henan Province.Finally, this paper puts forward the corresponding countermeasure in view of five types of city. |
